Integration Guide for Socialhipe and Shopify

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a JavaScript pixel into the header of each page on your Shopify store. JavaScript pixels are commonly used for tracking user behavior, analytics, and marketing purposes.

Prerequisites

  • Access to your Shopify admin account.
  • The SocialHipe pixel code you want to install (found by clicking the 3 dots on the campaign page and clicking install pixel)

Steps

Step 1: Log in to Your Shopify Admin

  1. Go to Shopify Admin and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Access the Online Store Themes

  1. In the left sidebar, click on Online Store.
  2. Under the Themes section, you will see your current theme. Click on the Actions button next to your theme.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Edit code.

Step 3: Locate the theme.liquid File

  1. In the Layout folder, find and click on the theme.liquid file. This file controls the overall layout of your store, including the header.

Step 4: Add the JavaScript Pixel Code

  1. In the theme.liquid file, look for the tag. This is usually towards the bottom of the file.
  2. Just above the tag, paste your JavaScript pixel code. It should look something like this:


Step 5: Save Your Changes

  1. Once you have pasted the pixel code, click the Save button at the top right of the code editor.

Step 6: Verify the Pixel Installation

  1. After saving your changes, go to the front end of your Shopify store.
  2. Use the browser’s developer tools (usually accessed by pressing F12 or right-clicking and selecting Inspect) to check if the pixel code is present in the section of the page.
  3. Additionally, verify that the pixel is firing correctly by checking the correct operation on the page, and the statistics section of the campaign
